Overview
HSK 6 assumes solid intermediate foundation and tests advanced literacy: opinion texts, economy, culture; near-native-speed listening; structured writing. The most common mistake is pushing only new vocabulary while forgetting HSK 4–5. This guide orients you to authentic input + structured output.
What is actually tested
Comprehension of less graded texts: inference, author attitude, argument structure.
Advanced listening: podcasts, interviews, continuous speech.
Written production with intro–body–conclusion and formal connectors (然而, 因此, 与此同时, 此外).
Authentic input (priority #1)
30 minutes/day reading: opinion, culture, light economics. Note 8–10 useful items, not 40.
Listening: start at 0.75x if needed, rise to 1x. Goal is comprehension, not hero suffering.
Alternate intensive reading (analysis) and extensive reading (flow, not every-line lookup).
Sources: short media articles, documentary subtitles, interview transcripts — grade difficulty, do not quit.
Structured output
Weekly 300+ character essays with a clear template.
Short ES↔ZH paragraph translation reveals fine grammar gaps.
Model sentence bank for formal structures — reuse until automatic.
Ask the AI tutor to mark thesis clarity, connectors, naturalness, and lexical repetition.
Maintaining earlier levels
Reserve 15–20% of time to HSK 4–5 review. HSK 6 does not forgive cracked foundations.
In Chinese Trainer, do not fully disable lower levels — SRS exists for maintenance.
If mocks fail on «easy words misheard,» the problem is fatigue or base, not HSK 6 rarity.
Weekly mock in final phase
One full mock/week in the final stretch, same-day analysis.
Classify errors: rare vocab, misread connector, fatigue, attitude trap.
Next week attack only the dominant category.
Advanced learner mistakes
Calquing English/European essay structure (too many subordinates; weak 话题–说明 flow).
Passive chengyu recognition without 5–10 you can use naturally.
HSK 6 Anki without authentic input — you know the card, not the text.
