About us
Chinese Trainer is a platform to learn Mandarin with an HSK method, spaced repetition, and an AI tutor — built for anyone who wants real progress, not empty streaks.
Why Chinese Trainer exists
Many apps make studying Chinese feel fun… until you want to pass the HSK, speak with confidence, or retain vocabulary long-term. Then the gaps show up: little structure by level, reviews that don’t prioritize what matters, and little help when a sentence goes wrong.
Chinese Trainer comes from that frustration. We wanted a clear tool: HSK-aligned vocabulary and lessons, a review system that works, practice for real language skills, and an AI tutor that understands your level — with clear explanations when a sentence goes wrong.
We’re not trying to be “another gamification app.” We’re trying to be the place where you build a serious routine, see measurable progress, and know what to study each day.
Our mission
Help anyone learning Mandarin master the language with an organized, motivating, affordable method — using AI only where it truly adds value: correction, explanation, and conversational practice, not as decoration.
How we teach
The method combines classic structure (HSK) with modern habits (SRS, daily plan) and personalized feedback when you need it.
A clear HSK path
Vocabulary, grammar, readings, and practice organized by level. You know where you are and what’s next.
Review that sticks
Spaced repetition so hard words come back on time and you don’t forget what you already studied.
Multimodal practice
Reading, listening, writing, tones, and speaking. You train more than recognizing loose flashcards.
AI with a purpose
The tutor adapts difficulty, corrects, and explains to your level. Premium covers the real cost of the models.
What we care about
Pedagogical clarity
HSK-level content with careful pinyin, examples, and translations. Less noise, more direction.
Fair pricing
Plans from €5/month. Premium costs more because AI has real operating costs — and we say so openly.
Respect for learners
Transparent pricing, a 7-day trial, and easy cancellation via the Stripe portal. No tricks.
Measurable progress
Streaks, XP, and skill stats so you see real advances — not just minutes spent in the app.
Who it’s for (and who it’s not)
Chinese Trainer fits if you want to study Chinese with intention. If you only want a streak game, there are better options.
- Learners preparing for HSK or wanting a level-by-level path from zero.
- Self-learners who need structure, review, and feedback without a full-time teacher.
- Busy people who prefer short, consistent sessions over occasional marathons.
- It’s not ideal if you only want to memorize lists without practice, or if you need a 100% live course with a human teacher.
How we work
Chinese Trainer is an indie project: a product built with care, iterating on real student feedback.
We are not trainchinese (trainchinese.com), the dictionary and flashcard apps from Molatra. Chinese Trainer is chinesetrainer.com — an HSK-structured web app with SRS and an AI tutor.
We publish roadmap and changelog honestly: what’s live, what’s next, and what may change priority.
If something doesn’t work, we want to know. We improve faster when you write clearly.
Sources and the HSK exam
HSK is the official Standard Mandarin proficiency test. These reference pages help place the language and the exam; Chinese Trainer is independent study material, not a registration center.

- Chinese Testing International — official HSK registration

About the founder

Javier Garcia Floriano
Founder of Chinese Trainer
I’m Javier Garcia Floriano, a developer and Mandarin learner. I built Chinese Trainer because I wanted a clear app for serious Mandarin study: well-organized HSK vocabulary, review that actually works, and an AI tutor that understands your level — not a generic chat. I design the product, content, and experience around the real routine of people studying between work, school, or other responsibilities. Questions, ideas, or collaboration — I read messages and reply.
